Somesan, introduce yourself to our audience. Anything special you would like them to know?

I'm a DJ/producer from Arad, Romania and also a part of ABC events. We've been throwing parties for a long time now. Also with my friends from ABC events, there's a ABC Sound Machine which is the official Void Acoustics distributor in Romania and we bring quality sound systems to our own and parties in and out of Romania.

Tell us about your passion. Where does it come from and what it means to you.

Well, I first discovered Electronic music as a child. I used to make mixtapes, lots of em. haha. I think the move to DJ-ing just came naturally after that. I always wanted to share music with people. It's such a big part of my life. I love what I do and I wanna keep going.

"Music inspires me, I can't go on without it.

Genre doesn't matter. Good music is good music. "

Describe to us your production process and what it is that inspires you. What emotions come into play while arranging such pieces?

Music inspires me, I can't go on without it. Genre doesn't matter. Good music is good music. It may start from a song or from just a 4 bar loop and I just go on from there.

It could also be random things. I like to record a lot of sounds and put them in my tracks. Usually chop them up until I'm not sure what it is anymore, haha.

As to emotions, it depends on what I'm feeling then - What my mood is.

Favorite pieces of equipment - hardware/software/other?

When it comes to producing, I use Ableton mainly. Sturdy, reliable and very versatile. You can do a lot of things with it.

As Dj-ing goes, by far my favorite mixer until this point has to be the MasterSounds Radius 4V. The Knobs feel great. I also love that it's rotary and the EQ and Isolator on the master is phenomenal.

What is your long term goal as a producer and how do you do you plan on achieving it?

Well, new musical projects and collaborations with artists. How I plan to achieve it? Just putting in the work, that's all there is to it.

ABC events. Tell us about it. What is the history there and what would you like to achieve?

Over the past 6 years, we've thrown some pretty special parties in and around Romania. When we started, we just did small afterparties in a backroom of a bar in our city. We've come pretty far since then.

We've recently had our 6th anniversary, where at the top of the lineup we've had French Micro House maestro - Cabanne. Along side him, we've had heavy hitters like Arapu, Gescu and Dubtil - as well as our own residents, Herck, Timirash, Bread&Butter and myself.

We're just going to keep doing our best to provide quality underground events in and out of Romania.

Any upcoming projects you wish to speak on?

I have an EP coming out on ABC.ltd and another EP with Herck on Curtea Veche next year. Other than that it's just what I upload on Bandcamp. What I like or tracks that feel special to me.

Somesan, in a few sentences. Tell us about this mix you made for us. Where did you get your inspiration. Is there anything special you want the audience to know?

Well, It consists only of my productions like you asked. I wanted to make one like this for a long time but didn't really get around to it, so cheers for the opportunity.

I really enjoyed making it even though it was a bit hard to do a proper selection seeing as I have tracks inspired from different genres. I hope you enjoy it as well!
