Smelly Feet Records: Marciano. Introduce yourself and what it is that you do.

Marciano: In west Philadelphia born and raised, on a play... wait no that's not me ;)

I was born in St.Leonard, home to the best Italianos of Montreal City!!! I have been a DJ since 2009 and a producer since 2013. I love music so much and don't know how I would live without it! I am also a STRONG PITBULL ADVOCATE...for me this is the top breed of dog hands down.

SFR: Describe to our audience what it takes to pursue your passion and some of the sacrifices you have had to make to get to where you are today?

Marciano: Laser Focus. Personal Development. Patience. Many sleepless nights and going out at 3 or 4 AM when you have been up since 6AM the morning before! I think that in anything you do, you have to give it your all. The great thing is when it comes to your passion, your will and determination is so strong that you are able to push yourself way harder than what would seem possible.

SFR: Stereo has been described as (((home))) to many Montrealers and club-goers around the world. How has being a resident there helped your career/music selection/style as a DJ?

Marciano: Being part of the Stereo family has definitely done so much for me in all aspects of my career. Only the creme de la creme of talent plays there so you have no choice to bring your A-game. Not to mention it is home to one of, if not the best sound systems in North America. You get to experience immense power with the clarity of a high end studio! So playing with the biggest names in the scene and listening to top sets weekend after weekend also develops your ears and expands your mind. I often leave there very motivated to mix a set or work in studio even if I haven't slept for 24hrs.

SFR: Tell us a little about the history of La Famiglia and your goals.

Marciano: La Familgia Recordings was born in 2013. At this stage I knew the mission but wasn't sure how to get there. The journey was slow moving as I was new in the game but I knew that with my drive and determination big things were coming!

In 2014 I met my little bro and now partner with me in the label, Karl Chulo(Chulo). He is a very special person to me and has great talent and vision! Once we connected we locked on and now are driving the label to the TOP. We are a techno label that is focused on creating a movement of positive, like minded artists, DJs and producers, aiming to deliver the very best to all our fans and really create a family that sticks together and gives their all. We already do local and international bookings and we are looking into starting a booking agency as well.

Also stay on the lookout for a sister label coming in 2016..think Germany...think Berghain...details to come!!

SFR: Take us through some of your personal productions - how do you prepare, what state of mind do you get in to start producing and what outcome are you trying to achieve?

Marciano: 110% Organic. Unless I am doing a remix for a specific label and a certain sound is wanted then I really go in blind and with minimal direction. In terms of preparing I always try to listen to old and different styles of music to get inspiration..I like to really get good sessions in and I love when you find that hook and groove that loops and locks you in and puts you in a trance. As for the outcome, I would say that you always want the track that will stick out and make some noise.

SFR: if you were a Pitbull, what would be your favourite chew toy?

Marciano: A pizza...or anything that smells, tastes or looks like a pizza.

SFR: Marciano, in a few sentences,, tell us about this mix you made for us. Where did you get your inspiration. Is there anything special you want the audience to know?.

Marciano: This mix best describes my signature sound. Bottom heavy, booty shaking and beat your ass down techno....but always with warmth and soul. No drone bullshit for me. In terms of inspiration I always like to tell a story with my mixes. It starts out somewhat less banging, but still very present. It then builds up into the vortex and pulls you into another dimension of techno! I want to grab your attention, then start to teach the way of the movement... Remember to always follow the #MarcianoMovement!!!
