Mac - take us into your world of hardware. What is your Live setup?
I have two setups. One for the studio and one for live. Currently, all of my tracks are created with the live setup. If the tracks are good, they are produced in the studio. I use the Octatrack, Analog Rytm, Analog Four, Korg Minilogue, a Mackie digital mixer and a Pioneer effects unit. For the better sounds, I use the BBE Maximizer or the Aphex Ultramaximizer.
Have you ever sold any piece of hardware that you wish you still owned?
No. Hardware is always very inspiring. The music created in this area with this type of music equipment is gaining popularity, which I find wonderful. I let myself be inspired by the possibilities.
Anything you’d like to add to your setup?
I would like to have some Lasso Machines from Roland and Moog.

Talk to us about “DirtyDriveSounds” - what’s the history there?
Dirty Drive Sounds started out as a small digital label in 2010 and was an experiment to gain experience and release on Vinyl. In the last two years, the label took a break but in the Spring there will be new releases coming out by a good friend, Jan Ve. In the future, DDS will be a platform for the Techno and Tech-house sounds. For my special House sound I plan to release new material on a vinyl only label.
Any special moments in your career that you’d like to share? Any special shoutouts?
There have been many nice moments. The most wonderful were years back - club gigs with Jeff Mills and Claude Young. It was great to be allowed to play with the legends from my youth.
"I was inspired by the classic and old school sounds of the Berlin house scene ..."
If you could replace one of your bodily organs with a piece of hardware, what would it be?
Very interesting question, but at my age (40), it’ s important for me to keep all of my organs. ;)
Mac-Kee, in a few sentences. Tell us about this mix you made for us. Where did you get your inspiration. Is there anything special you want the audience to know?
This set reflects my current tracks very well. I was inspired by the classic and old school sounds of the Berlin house scene influenced by Cinthie (Beste Modus). It is a trip of House, Garage, Tech-house and Dub Techno, all the sounds that have accompanied me for so many years. Finally, the most special thing about this set is that it was not mixed using any Vinyl or CDJs - but instead, the sounds came live from my machines. All tracks are taken from single sounds I have created. The sequence, length of the tracks and elements are always variable and depend on the mood.
